imageFood is such big part of my life, I think about it from morning until night, either cooking for myself and husband, developing new recipes, creating new dishes for Youtube or trying out new restaurants. When I travel, the first thing I do is get the lowdown on hip and happening restaurants, local’s favourites, and juice bars. But no matter what, these are five fab foods I consume on a daily basis, and at some point will land on my plate, be found in my smoothie, or topped off in my porridge bowls.

1) Avocado: Avocado’s have become a superfood staple in the Siedentopf house hold; rich, creamy and full of skin loving nutrients vitamin C & E, as well as mood boosting ingredients vitamin B6, and potassium, a healthy choice of fat that can be eaten in so many ways; on its own, in a smoothie, with eggs, tacos, mashed on toast, sliced over salad, or topped off on you’re morning oatmeal. Half an avocado is more than enough to give you a spectrum of nutrients, while being kind to your waist line. So AVo- it up 🙂

2) Nuts n Seeds: Nuts and seeds are a fab way to boost your nutritional intake. Nuts and seeds are rich in vitamins, minerals, fibre, and antioxidants; fab for beauty and health benefits such as skin, hair, immune, and digestion health, in addition, amino acids and healthy fats; important for your brain, muscle and heart health. Try adding a crunchy boost to either your salads, smoothie bowls, muesli, oatmeal, as a savoury snack, or topped over a simple dessert. Nuts for nuts n seeds 🙂

3) Glorious Greens:  I try to consume at least 2lb of greens a day which may include spinach, kale, collards, cucumber, parsley, chorella, spirulina, celery, asparagus, green beans, and broccoli. Green veggies are a great source of chlorophyll which help cleanse the system, giving you a clear complexion and gorgeous glow from the inside out. Sipping on green juice is a very effective and convenient way to get all greens in one go. From smoothies, fresh juices, starters, side dishes, and soups, there are many ways to add them to your daily diet. GO Green GO 🙂

4) Berries: Whether its blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries, these little bad boys are loaded with antioxidants A, C,and E, that help combat oxidation which causes ageing and illness, in addition fights free radicals from pollution, sun, smoke, toxins, chemicals, and processed foods. Berries have a plethora of health and beauty benefits, and by adding them to your daily diet, it will help boost your skin, brain, heart, digestion and immune health. I love adding them to my morning smoothie or oatmeal bowls. If I fancy something sweet, I will snack on a handful, as they contain much less sugar then the rest of the fruit family. It’s so Berry good for you 🙂

5) Eggs: I love love love eggs! There are so many ways to eat them; scrambled, sunny side up, poached, boiled, as an omelette, quiche or frittata. I will either eat 1-2 with my morning smoothie for an extra protein kick to curb cravings until lunch, or snack on a boiled egg in the afternoon. Eggs are rich in vitamin A, D, B2, B6, B12 and folic acid; fab for boosting your hair, skin, nails, teeth, bones and brain health, as well as minerals such as iron, calcium, potassium, and phosphorus, which will help boost your mood, memory, and energy. True confessions of an egg-natic. 🙂
