decluttering-your-homeNow that September has arrived and summer is coming to an end.  Many of us still get that back to school feeling.  We set goals, have a spring in our step, and are determined to make the most of last few months of the year. One of the best things to maximise your productivity around you is doing a big clear out of your home.  Your surroundings is a reflection of you, so think clutter mess = clutter mind, organised house= organised head 🙂

Here are my top tips to make decluttering not feel like a chore but merely a choice to make the best of this month.

1) Envision how you would like the end result to look? Think of why you want to and what it will look like.

2) Find ways to get rid of things you don’t need anymore; such as local charity shops, friends, or eBay.

3) Create a list;  step by step check it off as you complete each section, which will help motivate you complete the project.

4) Give yourself a realistic timeline; take small breaks so you don’t get overwhelmed or discouraged.

5) Start somewhere small which will make a big difference like the bathroom.

I love to declutter 3-4 x a year, it makes room for new purchases and prevents the mind going into chaotic overload.
