Hair loss, and thinning, has become a much bigger issue in todays society especially among women; causes ranging from anaemia, consuming too much of a diet full of processed, refined foods and malnourished of vital nutrients that support and strenghthen hair growth.

Although I never had problems with hair growth, over years due to anaemia, or medications I was on if I was having a flare up from my Crohns disease, my hair was not at its peak, either weak, thinning or had a lack of life.

Five years ago when I really started to pay attention to what I ate and consumed more nourishing foods, added daily juices in my diet and taking JUICE PLUS+® every day, I started to see a significant difference in my hair and realised the healthier I was the healthier my hair looked and felt. Funnily enough I often actually get asked if I wear extensions by people or professional hair stylists when I walk into salons.

A nourishing varied diet with foods rich in Vitamin B,C,D, Protein, Iron and Zinc will give your hair the boost it needs and helps strengthen growth, thickness and your over all hair health.

Vitamin B: helps with growth, texture, and overall thickness.
Fab Hair Foods: Broccoli, Poultry, Fish, Meat, Bananas, Spinach, Spirulina.

Vitamin C: Boosts collagen production
Fab Hair Foods: Goji Berries, Citrus fruits, Strawberries, Kiwi, Spinach, mangos, papaya.

Vitamin D: Boosts hair growth
Fab Hair Foods: Eggs, Meat, Oily Fish.

Iron: Lack of it is the major cause of hair loss
Fab foods: Poultry, Red meat, spinach, kale, broccoli, lentils, pulses, spirulina, chroella.

Zinc: Helps hair growth and strengthen hair follicles.
Fab Hair Foods: Beef, Eggs, Gluten Free whole grains.

As well as including these foods into your daily diet, also make sure to give your hair lots of love from the outside.  I do not wash hair more than 2x a week, and for added TLC,  I use treatment masks by Kerastase to nourish and protect my hair.  In between try using a dry shampoo, and also beware of too many heated products like straightners, that damage your hair, leaving it dry and brittle.
